Topic outline

  • 1. Introduction

Each agency or service is strongly recommended to produce its own Safeguarding Adults Individual Agency Guidance, which is clearly accessible to its staff.

The Guidance must be compatible with these Sunderland Safeguarding Adults Board Procedures and reflect the philosophy and commitments contained within them.

    • 2. Individual Agency Guidance

Sunderland Safeguarding Adults Board (SSAB) has developed a template Individual Agency Guidance document which includes guidance setting out how the document can be personalised to each individual agency. Agencies are strongly recommended to use this template.

Each agency or organisation is responsible for the development of its own Individual Agency Guidance. Should Organisations choose not to use the Sunderland Individual Agency Guidance template they are still required to develop a policy document, which must be compatible with these Procedures and compliant with the requirements of the Care Act (2014).

Individual Agency Guidance must be reviewed on a regular basis in line with any regulations, legislative changes, governance arrangements and any changes to Sunderland procedures.
